Scarpa Instinct VS Climbing Shoe Review

Notable Pros And Cons
  • Fits like a second skin allowing for amazing sensitivity
  • Aggressive downturned toe puts lots of focus on big toe; allows for edging on a dime
  • One of the best heels in Scarpa's line of aggressive shoes
  • Bi-Tension™ active randing system helps keep the shape of the toe
  • Stretches very little (~1/4 size) which retains performance
  • Pull tabs in tongue allow deep fit and adjusting
  • With a stiffer rubber, leans more toward edging than smearing
  • Brutally long break in period, size a little snug for less pain or opt for the lace-up version for comfort
  • Not suitable for long climbs as the level of pain increases relative to time worn
  • One of the more expensive pair of shoes
